Reports indicated that an Elementary and Junior School in Kermed village, Hagaz sub-zone, is making significant impact regarding educational outreach.

Hagaz, 09 November 2013 – Reports indicated that an Elementary and Junior School in Kermed village, Hagaz sub-zone, is making significant impact regarding educational outreach.

Mr. Medhanie Mebrahtu, director of the school, explained that it has ensured remarkable learning opportunity for children from remote areas, besides the fact that parental awareness pertaining to education and community participation in Adult Education Program is on the rise following the conducting of rigorous sensitization activities.

Among students, Helen Gilai, Lielana Zecarias and Efrem Haileab commended the efforts being made to ensure equitability of educational service, including gender wise, and asserted that they would demonstrate excellence in their academic pursuit. They also expressed appreciation for the commitment of parents and teachers in the teaching-learning process.

Mr. Saleh Ibrahim, head of the Education Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, said that significant initiative was made to equip the school with basic facilities, and called for additional inputs thereof.
