Massawa, 13 November 2013 – The residents of Massawa have reiterated readiness to back up implementation of development programs. They made the pledge at a meeting with the Mayor of the port city, Mr. Kidane Woldesilasie, during which he pointed out that the national development drive attests to the remarkable community role in the government endeavors aiming at ensuring social justice.
Accordingly, gratifying accomplishment has been registered pertaining to social service outreach, and called on the residents to step up judicious utilization of such facilities.
The participants of the meeting indicated that the putting in place of social service facilities has given rise to improvement of their livelihood, and expressed readiness to sustain participation in the nation’s endeavors of ensuring food security.
Sgt. Osman Fikak, head of crime prevention in a police station in the city, commended the prevalence of popular collaboration with members of the Police Force, the impact of which has been manifested in declining number of crime instances. He also called for sustained communal goodwill in police pursuits thereof.
