Youths in Afabet called upon to enhance role regarding crime prevention

The office of the Police Force in Afabet semi-urban center has called on youths in the locality to enhance role regarding crime prevention through raising their awareness regarding law.

Afabet, 16 November 2013 – The office of the Police Force in Afabet semi-urban center has called on youths in the locality to enhance role regarding crime prevention through raising their awareness regarding law. It made the call in connection with a seminar with High School students, during which it was stated that ethical conduct and societal harmony are among the gratifying values of the Eritrean people.

Speaking at the seminar, Lt. Amenai Zewde, commander of the Police Station in the locality, called on the participants to keep intact cultural values and parents to play their due role as regards cultivating moral virtues among the young generation. He also called for further community collaboration with the Police, and urged youths to effectively utilize their time and concentrate in career development.

The participants said that a seminar of this type is vital in raising youth awareness, and put forth views pertaining to several issues.
