Goluj, 19 November 2013 – The National Agricultural Research Center’s branch in Goluj sub-zone said that it is making efforts targeting widespread introduction of select seeds. It made the remark in connection with the conducting of Farmers’ Day at the research site, during which experts stated that gratifying outcome has been registered as regards developing select seeds with a view to introducing high-yield seeds in the locality.

The agriculture experts further called on farmers to adhere to professional guidance so as to secure bountiful harvest.

Among the farmers, Ms. Gidey Haile, Sheikh Anwar Mohammed, Mr. Tewolde Medhanie and Ms. Mihret Mentai voiced appreciation for the accomplishment registered at the research ground, and said that they would strive to raise their harvest on the basis of utilizing the research outcomes.

Mr. Niguse Abraha, head of the research site in Halhale, indicate that practical studies conducted on various millet varieties have given rise to positive outcome. He went on to disclose that a total of 120 farmers are expected to become beneficiaries of such select seeds.
