An Eritrean delegation headed by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh took part in the Third Africa-Arab Summit which was conducted on the 19th and 20th of this month in Kuwait City under the theme “Partners in Development and Investment.”

Asmara, 21 November 2013 – An Eritrean delegation headed by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh took part in the Third Africa-Arab Summit which was conducted on the 19th and 20th of this month in Kuwait City under the theme “Partners in Development and Investment.”

The meeting that witnessed the participation of more than 60 State leaders adopted declarations with a view to enhancing partnership in the domains of investment, food security and infrastructural development, as well as political and diplomatic relations.

In the course of the conference, the role of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) in promoting the continent’s development was commended vis-à-vis the resolution adopted in the 3rd Arab Development Summit to raise the capital of Arab financial institutions, including BADEA. Moreover, the Amir of Kuwait’s generous initiative of granting a multi-billion concessionary loan through cooperation and coordination with the World Bank and other international institutions to African countries focusing on investment and infrastructure was praised.

Meanwhile, reports indicated that the Eritrean delegation took part in the Africa-Arab Economic Forum on November 11and 12, which was followed by a meeting of Foreign Ministers and experts thereof.
