Asmara, November 24 2013- The inhabitants of the towns of Segeneiti and Ginda expressed readiness to keep up sanitation of their surroundings.
At a meeting they conducted, the inhabitants of Ginda established a committee comprising health professionals and from the inhabitants to oversee the environmental sanitation program.
Mr. Omar Yahia Haji, Administrator of Ginda sub-zone, indicated that the inhabitants of 01 Administrative area, understanding the health consequences due to lack of sanitation, have special responsibility of keeping their surrounding clean for they live around Ginda Referral Hospital and School of Assistant Nurses.
Mr. Michael Jahrai, Head of the School of Assistant Nurses, on his part called on parents to ensure the sanitation of their surrounding.
Likewise, the inhabitants of Segeneiti and civil servants have conducted successful sanitation campaign.
Mr. Angesom Embaie and Mr. Hailemichael Andemariam said that the sanitation campaign is important for controlling the prevalence of communicable diseases, and called on inhabitants to refrain from throwing waste everywhere.
Mr. Kifle Mengis, Head of Development in the sub-zone, commending the sanitation campaign conducted by the inhabitants and civil servants, indicated that the sanitation campaign is being conducted every three months.
