Ambassador Osman Mohammed Omar conducts seminar to Cairo University Students

Mr. Osman Mohammed Omar, the Eritrean Ambassador to the Republic of Egypt, has conducted seminar to Cairo University students, lecturers and  researchers on African issues regarding the Eritrean struggle for independence, the struggle being conducted for economic emancipation and the challenges encountered.

 

Asmara, 25 November 2013- Mr. Osman Mohammed Omar, the Eritrean Ambassador to the Republic of Egypt, has conducted seminar to Cairo University students, lecturers and  researchers on African issues regarding the Eritrean struggle for independence, the struggle being conducted for economic emancipation and the challenges encountered.

The Ambassador gave extensive briefings as regards the beginning of the Eritrean armed struggle for independence after the country was denied its self-determination by special interest groups of the superpowers and the stages the Revolution had to go through, the regional and global challenges encountered and the miracles witnessed as well as the heroism and perseverance of the Eritrean people.

He explained the unsubstantiated hostility against Eritrea by the superpowers, especially the US Administration, and that one of the vivid evidences is taking hostage the implementation of the final Eritrea-Ethiopia border demarcation Resolution of 2002. He further reiterated that the Eritrean people are concentrating on implementation of development programs without being taken hostage to various enemy conspiracies.

Ambassador Osman Mohammed-Omar went on to outline the policy of the Eritrean government based on ensuring social justice, with giving special priority to deprived members of the society, which is registering practical achievement in the sectors of education, health and infrastructure, as well as creating vast opportunities for citizens.

As regards diplomacy and political issues, the Ambassador indicated that Eritrea is registering commendable activities, and as a result it is establishing relations with different countries based on mutual benefit.

The participants of the seminar on their part appreciated the extensive briefing they received, and the diplomatic efforts Eritrea is making to promote peace in Africa in general and the Horn of Africa in particular.
