NUEW’s Northern Red Sea branch express readiness to work in cooperation with stakeholders for the success of development programs
At an assessment meeting conducted on 22 November in Massawa, the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) branch in the Northern Red Sea region has expressed readiness to work in cooperation with stakeholders for the success of planned development programs.
Massawa, 26 November 2013- At an assessment meeting conducted on 22 November in Massawa, the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) branch in the Northern Red Sea region has expressed readiness to work in cooperation with stakeholders for the success of planned development programs.
It was disclosed at the meeting that the main priority of the NUEW is on the economic, political and social situation of women and children. In this connection extensive discussion was conducted regarding women’s health and education as well as the need of extending assistance so that women may improve their livelihood.
Ms. Mesuda Humed, Head of the NUEW branch office, gave extensive briefings as regards activities conducted in 2013, the achievement registered and the challenges encountered. She further called on stakeholders to reinforce participation.
The participants of the meeting called for controlling school dropout, provide education to traditional mid-wives besides undertaking awareness raising endeavors to families that are not sending their children to school.
