At a seminar she conducted to representatives of the public, civil servants and others, Ms. Salma Hassan, Minister of Labor and Human Welfare, said that the main priority of the Government is to create conducive environment in which citizens could lead stable life.

 

Asmara, 29 November 2013- At a seminar she conducted to representatives of the public, civil servants and others, Ms. Salma Hassan, Minister of Labor and Human Welfare, said that the main priority of the Government is to create conducive environment in which citizens could lead stable life.

As regards activities of the Ministry, Ms. Salma explained that creating conducive ground in which the disabled, the elderly and nationals with mental disability could become self-supporting are some programs the Government is giving special attention.

She further indicated that the Government, in cooperation with stakeholders, has implemented programs allocating huge budget, organizing different vocational training programs, making financial assistance and creating credit opportunity. She also said that social problems mainly arise due to disintegration of families, and that the Ministry is giving priority attention to the task of maintaining the unity of that small part of the society.

Regarding assistance to martyrs families, the Minister stressed that on top of the programs of the Government, the initiative being taken by citizens living inside the country and abroad are among the noble values of the society.

Moreover, she underlined that over the past 22 years of independence the Government has created many employment opportunities inside the country and abroad, besides playing significant role in creating understanding between workers and owners of production establishments.

The participants of the seminar on their parts forwarded questions and suggestions to which the Minister gave due response.
