A total of 58 thousand Kronor and 25 thousand Nakfa have been extended towards assisting families of fallen heroes and nurturing orphans.
Asmara 30 November 2013- A total of 58 thousand Kronor and 25 thousand Nakfa have been extended towards assisting families of fallen heroes and nurturing orphans.
According to a report from the Eritrean Embassy in Sweden, the 58 thousand Kroner was extended by a group of Eritrean mothers grouped in “Hidri Sematat” (Martyrs Trust) and who reside in Uppsala city.
The said mothers usually collect certain amount of money every year in November to assist families of fallen heroes.
Previously, the mothers had assumed the responsibility of assisting 45 families of martyrs and at present they are assisting a total of 55 families of fallen heroes, according to reports.
Similarly, members of the Eritrean community in Parma, Italy, have extended Euro 12 thousand they collected by organizing different programs to augment the account of Martyrs Trust Fund, according to a report from the Eritrean General Consulate in Milan city, Italy.
Likewise, among the inhabitants of Asmara, Mr. Mana Mehari extended Nakfa 10 thousand towards nurturing orphans. Eritrean community members in the US also donated 15 thousand Nakfa to that end, according to a report from the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare.
The nationals who made due contribution in assisting families of fallen heroes and orphans reminded other citizens to follow their footsteps for such huge responsibility should not be left to the Government alone.
