Strong national values of the society significantly contributing in controlling the prevalence of HIV/AIDS

At a seminar conducted in the Central region in connection with International AIDS Day, it was indicated that the strong values of the Eritrean society is significantly contributing in controlling the prevalence of HIV/AIDS.

Asmara, 01 December 2013- At a seminar conducted in the Central region in connection with International AIDS Day, it was indicated that the strong values of the Eritrean society is significantly contributing in controlling the prevalence of HIV/AIDS.

During the seminar that was conducted at the premises of the Eritrean Air Force under the theme “Zero New Prevalence”, “Zero to Stigma and Discrimination”, and “Zero Death Due to AIDS”, Mr. Mehari Woldemichael, Head of HIV/AIDS and Communicable Disease Control at the Central region branch, stressed that International AIDS Day shoulders every citizen to contribute its part in controlling the prevalence of the diseases, and that the branch office would conduct extensive awareness raising campaign from 1 December onwards for 10 days.

Mr. Emanuel Haile and Mr. Mehari Tesfamichael on their part indicated that the posters that are being put on buses and other transportation vehicles in the city are part of the awareness raising campaign, and called on the public in general and youth in particular to pay special attention and keep themselves away from the risks.

International AIDS Day is commemorated for the 24th time worldwide and for the 19th time here in Eritrea.
