Training organized for apicultural farmers in Logo-Anseba sub-zone

Reports indicated that training was organized for apicultural farmers in 14 villages in Logo-Anseba sub-zone with a view to raising honey production.

 

Asmara, 03 December 2013 – Reports indicated that training was organized for apicultural farmers in 14 villages in Logo-Anseba sub-zone with a view to raising honey production.

Mr. Zecarias Bereketeab from the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone indicated that the seminar would provide groundwork for the farmers to work as an Association, and thereby raise their capacity for introduction of modern beehives. He also called on the trainees to put into practice the knowledge they have acquired.

Likewise, Mr. Tsegezeab Bekuretsion from the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Gash-Barka region stated that initiatives have been taken to raise the production level in the domains of apiculture and poultry production, and expressed the office’s readiness to collaborate with the farmers to work on the basis of an Association.

Ms. Elsa Ristom, head of the Ministry’s sub-zonal branch, urged beekeepers and interested individuals to extend a helping hand towards promoting spirit of synergism.

The trainees expressed satisfaction with the course, and voiced readiness to work as an Association.
