A number of disabled nationals in the port city of Massawa said that disability is never an impediment as regards demonstrating self-reliance.
Massawa, 04 December 2013 – A number of disabled nationals in the port city of Massawa said that disability is never an impediment as regards demonstrating self-reliance.
They further lauded the endeavors being made by the government with a view to raising their production capacity, on the basis of which their livelihood is witnessing improvement.
Among the nationals, Mr. Mohammed Ali and Mr. Solomon Teklehaimanot, shareholders at a bakery, disclosed that they launched the business jointly before 7 years, and that they did their level best to win a gratifying market share. The business venture is looking forward to selling products at lower price, they added.
Likewise, Mr. Teklu Mebrahtu and Mr. Tesfamichael Amanuel stated that they have been enhancing relations with various institutions and individuals so as to attain higher production.
Mr. Mohammed-Seid Shengeb, head of the branch office of the Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) in the Northern Red Sea region, indicated that around 800 members have been rehabilitated in livestock, irrigation farming and bakery business.
