The NUEW branch in Anseba region indicated that endeavors being exerted towards raising the competence and awareness of members are witnessing positive outcome.

Keren, 04 December 2013 – The NUEW branch in Anseba region indicated that endeavors being exerted towards raising the competence and awareness of members are witnessing positive outcome. It made the remark at a seminar conducted with teachers and school directors in Keren city, during which it was stated that the training courses organized for NUEW members and promotional activities launched with a view to doing away with harmful customary practices, as well as ensuring gender equality have given rise to remarkable outcome.

Heading the seminar, Ms. Yihdega Yohanes, head of administration and finance in the branch office, called for stepped-up societal role in raising women’s awareness pertaining to their legitimate rights. She went on to say that gratifying accomplishment was registered to this end in the course of the post-independence years, while the groundwork has been laid for maintaining the cherished goal across future generations.

In the same vein, Ms. Asha Ali-Nor, head of the branch office, called on teachers to play due role in this regard.
