Asmara, 10 December 2013 – The Eritrean community members in Washington DC and its environs said that safeguarding national unity holds priority in their pursuit to raise participation in State affairs. They made the remark at a community seminar they held last Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Berhane Gebrehiwet, Charge d’Affairs in the Eritrean Embassy, gave briefings regarding the objective situation in the Homeland, the development accomplishments being registered and the ongoing restructuring activities with a view to promoting leadership quality. He further pointed out that Eritrea’s diplomatic efforts have given rise to a remarkable outcome despite the external conspiracies woven to weaken the nation.

In the course of the seminar, a number of study papers were presented focusing on the multi-faceted anti-Eritrea smear campaign and the popular resolve against them, while the participants voiced readiness to mount staunch resistance against such hostile acts.

The community members put forth views on ways and means of raising their input in the nation’s all-round endeavors.
