The Water Department’s branch in the Central region indicated that a total of 800 families in Daero-Paulos village, vicinity of Asmara, have become beneficiaries of in-house tap water.
Asmara, 11 December 2013 – The Water Department’s branch in the Central region indicated that a total of 800 families in Daero-Paulos village, vicinity of Asmara, have become beneficiaries of in-house tap water.
Mr. Yohannes Mulu, coordinator of the project, disclosed that the task was accomplished through a total expenditure of 10 million Nakfa, and that the local inhabitants extended labor support in the process.
Among the beneficiaries, Mr. Tekie Tesfai, Ms. Weini Mihretab, Mr. Fitsum Araya and Ms. Kidan Habte explained that the task of fetching water in the locality used to involve unwanted loss of time and energy. They further commended the commitment of the workers from the Water Department as well as members of the village’s development committee, and expressed readiness to practice judicious use of the facility.
Mr. Gebrekidan Girmatsion from the branch office on his part urged the beneficiaries to enhance effective utilization of water.
