Veteran fighter Mihretab Tesfagiorgis passes away

Veteran fighter Mihretab Tesfagiorgis, one of the founders of Dimtsi Hafash radio program during the Eritrean armed struggle for independence, passed away today at the age of 71.

 

Asmara, 11 December 2013 – Veteran fighter Mihretab Tesfagiorgis, one of the founders of Dimtsi Hafash radio program during the Eritrean armed struggle for independence, passed away today at the age of 71.

The late Mihretab, engineer, joined the armed struggle in July 1977, and played a leading role in the establishment and development of the radio broadcast, besides expanding its terrestrial coverage, on the basis of working as head of the technical department. Since the year 2004 to the present, he demonstrated unremitting commitment and dedication in his position as the Director General of the mobile telephone and internet service department of EriTel.

The funeral service of the departed fellow would be conducted tomorrow at Asmara Martyrs Cemetery.
