The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Northern Red Sea region has organized a seminar in Ghida town regarding children’s rights.
Ginda, 13 December 2013 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Northern Red Sea region has organized a seminar in Ghida town regarding children’s rights.
Speaking at the meeting in which religious leaders, Area administrators and community elders took part, Mr. Rusom Hizbai, head of social welfare in the branch office, said that the setting up of committees as regards children’s rights is a prerequisite for promoting socio-economic activities. He further indicated that such committees have recently been launched in Nacfa, Massawa and Ginda sub-zones in continuation of similar initiatives taken in the sub-zones of Foro and Afabet.
Among the participants, Mr. Hussein Arefa and Ms. Saba Sibhatu expressed conviction that the committees’ efforts have made significant impact pertaining to raising community awareness, and that they would enhance role for still more gratifying outcome.
In closing remarks, the Administrator of Ginda sub-zone, Mr. Omar Yahia Haji, said that ensuring children’s rights entails the role of all citizens, and called on the members of the committees to assume greater responsibility in the task.
