Anseba region: Ministry’s branch calls for further stakeholder coordination as regards promoting student competence
The Ministry of Education’s branch in Anseba region has called for further coordination on the part of stakeholders and communities as regards promoting student competence through reinforcement of the teaching-learning process.
Keren, 14 December 2013 – The Ministry of Education’s branch in Anseba region has called for further coordination on the part of stakeholders and communities as regards promoting student competence through reinforcement of the teaching-learning process. It made the call at a meeting conducted to assess previous General Examination results at regional level, in which higher education heads, Administrators, heads of line ministries and Associations, members of the regional Assembly and directors, as well as supervisors participated.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kifle Mekonen, head of National Examinations in the Ministry, called on teachers and parents to enhance role and follow-up for still more gratifying results in general examinations. He further urged teachers to demonstrate a rather responsible approach in all pedagogical procedures.
Likewise, Mr. Hagos Adhana, head of basic education in the branch office, stated that student results in nationals examinations is an indication of the exerted educational efforts and curricular worth.
It was stated in the meeting that 62.4% of the students who sat for the examination obtained passing marks, while the putting up of further endeavors was described important for more gratifying achievement.
