The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Gash-Barka region said that effective accomplishments have been registered as regards backing needy nationals.
Barentu, 16 December 2013 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Gash-Barka region said that effective accomplishments have been registered as regards backing needy nationals. It made the statement at an assessment meeting in Barentu, during which the regional Administrator, Mr. Mohammed Hamd, indicated that the strategies to this end focused on sustainable impact and lauded the commitment of members of the branch office.
Also speaking at the meeting, Mr. Eyob Kidane, head of the branch office, pointed out that the outcome of the assessment is a stepping stone to a still more gratifying outcome in the future, and urged the staff members to step up efforts for the realization of the cherished goal.
Accordingly, a total of 120 custodians of families comprising orphans have been rehabilitated in livestock, while a number of needy students were provided with learning materials and school fees.
Moreover, promotional campaigns were conducted with a view to enhancing community participation pertaining to patronizing of martyrs’ families, thus giving rise to a positive outcome.
The meeting also assessed that endeavors made towards expanding job opportunities and inspiring employee relations as well as accountability have borne the desired result.
In closing remarks, Ms. Salma Hassen, Minister of Labor and Human Welfare, called for further efforts thereof with a major emphasis on child welfare.
