Asmara, 17 December 2013 – Members of Eritrean National Association branches in the UK asserted that they would mount resolve towards ensuring national interest and keeping intact societal harmony, besides voicing staunch resistance against external conspiracies. They made the pledge at an annual meeting they held last Sunday at Birmingham city, in which the Eritrean Ambassador to the UK and Ireland, Mr. Tesfamichael Gerahtu, gave extensive briefings focusing on the objective situation in the Homeland vis-à-vis developments of popular resistance against anti-Eritrea agendas.
Following the briefing, the participants of the meeting conducted in-depth discussion targeting popular committees serving all organizational levels of the community, consular services, activities of the YPFDJ and programs for the 10th Conference thereof, as well as the plan in connection with popular resolve for the year 2014, among others. They also said that they would step up efforts with a view to promoting community activities seeking popularization of cultural and national values among community families in general and children in particular, while the task of equipping youths against the continued psychological war remains to be one of the priorities to this end.
The meeting concluded electing a new committee in charge of coordinating the aforementioned tasks, in addition to adopting decisions in a bid to giving impetus to popular input in State affairs.
