Ginda residents called upon to raise awareness regarding prevention of communicable diseases

The Administration of the Health Ministry’s branch in the Southern Red Sea region has called on the residents of Ginda town to raise awareness regarding prevention of communicable diseases, and thereby step up participation in community sensitization activities.

Ginda, 18 December 2013 – The Administration of the Health Ministry’s branch in the Southern Red Sea region has called on the residents of Ginda town to raise awareness regarding prevention of communicable diseases, and thereby step up participation in community sensitization activities.

It made the call at a meeting with the residents, during which it was stated that health institutions in the region are rendering better service, thus giving rise to significant decline in instances of such diseases.

Dr. Yohannes Tekeste, head of the branch office, urged health personnel in the locality to strive for still more gratifying outcome, and called for enhanced community input in this regard.

Accordingly, extensive campaign was conducted targeting prevention of communicable diseases and widespread introduction of VCT. Meanwhile mobile services are being rendered in remote area in a bid to promoting mother and child health.
