The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Anseba region indicated that endeavors exerted as regards promoting community welfare have borne positive outcome, thus witnessing significant improvement in the livelihood of the inhabitants.

Keren, 19 December 2013 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Anseba region indicated that endeavors exerted as regards promoting community welfare have borne positive outcome, thus witnessing significant improvement in the livelihood of the inhabitants. It made the remark at a meeting in Keren city, during which it was stated that the branch office’s current annual expenditure in connection with backing families of martyrs, people living with HIV/AIDS, disabled nationals, street children and others stands at more than 80 million Nakfa.

Accordingly, efforts exerted in a bid to ensure workers’ rights have witnessed a gratifying outcome.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Girmai Bokretsion, Head of the branch office, explained that the procedure of identifying needy citizens in rural areas constitutes one of the tasks in which effective work has been accomplished. He also called on community rehabilitation workers to enhance role as regards identification of needy disabled fellow inhabitants.

Also speaking at the meeting, Ms. Salma Hassan, Minister of Labor and Human Welfare, noted the importance of the role of the Ministry’s heads in identifying such nationals, besides facilitating payments to families of fallen heroes based on the financial support by Eritrean citizens living abroad.
