Forto-Sawa, 19 December 2013 – The inhabitants of Forto-Sawa, Gash-Barka region, said that supports extended to disabled nationals should entail strategies seeking improvement of production capacity on the part of beneficiaries.
They made the remark at a meeting in which Area administrators, religious leaders as well as representatives of government institutions took part. The participants further indicated that popular input to this end should adhere to strategies of this type.
Mr. Desta Tesfai, in charge of the Ministry’s branch in Forto-Sawa sub-zone, similarly called for government and community initiatives regarding the backing of the Disabled should target the groundwork for such citizens to raise their competence in various work domains, thus ensuring sustainable impact in rehabilitation tasks. He also pointed out that the efforts exerted thereof have given rise to remarkable achievement, and called on disabled nationals to demonstrate additional triumph in attaining self-sufficiency both in their individual and group-based job pursuits.
The participants of the meeting lauded the government’s commitment in the rehabilitation of physically incapacitated citizens.
