Mendefera, 20 December 2013 – A total of 20 needy breadwinner women in Mendefera sub-zone have become beneficiaries of training in weaving which was organized by the NUEW.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Ms. Aberash Habtai, Head of the Union’s branch in the Southern region, pointed out that the provision of such training is a continuation of previous initiatives. She further disclosed that the trainees were provided with financial incentives in the course of the 6-month training, and called on them to focus on the development of the skill knowhow they have acquired.
Mr. Abraham Hagos, Administrator of the sub-zone, on his part urged the trainees to utilize the opportunity effectively in their future career endeavors, besides resorting to working as a group.
He also expressed the readiness of the Administration as regards collaborating with them.
Among the beneficiaries, Ms. Senait Abrahaley and Ms. Kedija Ali expressed satisfaction with the training, and asserted that they would strive to improve their livelihood taking the opportunity as a steppingstone.
