Development accomplishments registered in Asmat sub-zone attest to soundness of government policies: Report

The Administrator of Asmat sub-zone, Mr. Abubeker Mohammed Jimi’e, said that the development accomplishments registered in the locality attest to the soundness of government policies thereof.

Asmat, 21 December 2013 – The Administrator of Asmat sub-zone, Mr. Abubeker Mohammed Jimi’e, said that the development accomplishments registered in the locality attest to the soundness of government policies thereof.

He explained that gratifying development achievements have been registered in the sub-zone pursuing the domains of education, health, potable water supply and popularization of community-based style of living. Accordingly, a total of 16 schools ranging from kindergarten to High School level are rendering commendable service, while the average number of new registrations stands at around 1,500. As regards health, the demand for basic service could be met on the basis of 3 stations.

Among the inhabitants, Ms. Kedija Mohammed-Ali, Mr. Omar Mohammed-Abdalla and Mr. Suleiman Mohammed-Jimi’e expressed satisfaction with the social service facilities, the impact of which as regards improvement of community livelihood has become significant. They also called on the Administration of Anseba region to extend machinery support backing community undertakings focusing on renovation of dirt roads.

Asmat, which is located some 120 Km. North-west of Keren city, is inhabited by around 34,000 people.
