Members of ENWVA in Hagaz sub-zone obtain credit opportunity

The members of the Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) in Hagaz sub-zone have obtained credit opportunity that would help them improve their livelihood on the basis of livestock production.

Hagaz, 26 December 2013 – The members of the Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) in Hagaz sub-zone have obtained credit opportunity that would help them improve their livelihood on the basis of livestock production.

Mr. Mohammed Abdalla, Head of the Association’s branch in the sub-zone, disclosed that a total of 22 members from 16 Administrative areas have become beneficiaries of 10,000 Nakfa each in line with the strategy of the scheme. He further urged the members to strive to use the opportunity as a stepping stone to betterment of living standard.

Mr. Dawit Gebrekristos, Head of the Association’s branch in Anseba region, pointed out that stepped-up effort is being exerted in a bid to laying the groundwork for the rehabilitation of members. He equally advised the Association members in the region to use such opportunities effectively, and asserted the readiness of the branch office to extend consultancy service to them.

The beneficiaries lauded the government’s commitment towards improving the living standard of nationals, especially the Disabled. They also said that they would put up sustained endeavors to raise their income on the basis of the credit scheme.

Reports indicated that a number of members of the Association have been rehabilitated on group and individual basis, and that they are engaged in small scale business activities such as bakery, wood and metal work, as well as irrigation farming.
