Asmara, 27 December 2013 – A number of community members in Asmara city have expressed satisfaction with the service being rendered by the Community Hospital in Godaif area.
Among the city residents, Rev. Asefaw Niguse, Mr. Gebregziabher Gebreab, Ms. Medhin Gebremedhin, Ms. Hiwet Gebresilasie and Ms. Nigisti Gebremedhin explained that the availability of such facility attests to the government’s commitment towards promoting community wellbeing.
Mr. Mehari Gebregiorgis, Medical Director of the Community Hospital, disclosed that it renders dental and ophthalmic services, including surgery, apart from the general and emergency services. “We serve patients from other Administrative regions too”, he added.
Accordingly, the Community Hospital served around 20,000 inpatients and outpatients in the course of the year 2013, while regular follow-up services have been rendered to a number of diabetic and hypertensive nationals.
Dr. Netsereab Gebremariam, an ophthalmologist from the hospital, advised patients to seek diagnostic intervention at the early stage of their sickness.
