Students in Molqi sub-zone said that school-based health seminars have made significant impact as regards raising community awareness regarding communicable diseases, and called for more efforts to this end.

Molqi, 30 December 2013 – Students in Molqi sub-zone said that school-based health seminars have made significant impact as regards raising community awareness regarding communicable diseases, and called for more efforts to this end. They made the remark at a meeting with Mr. Solomon Tesfai, Head of the health center in Molqi, during which they called on health institutions to fine-tune their community sensitization strategies targeting students.

Among the students, Awet Girmai, Habtu Tsegai and Dolshi Semere noted the importance of such seminars in promoting community health, and said that they would collaborate in endeavors to raise the inhabitants’ awareness as regards health issues.

Mr. Solomon stated that the health center’s community sensitization tactics take into account segmented audiences such as civil servants, students and the general public. The seminars conducted with students involved specialty aspect, he added.
