Asmara, 04 January 2014 – The inhabitants of Selae-Daero village stated that community undertakings lay the groundwork for nurturing culture of work.
Among the inhabitants, Mr. Haile Habtom, Ms. Akberet Berhane, Ms. Gidei Haile and Mr. Girmai Habregiorgis said that the noble culture of community-based collaboration is vital as regards inspiring community inclination towards development undertakings. Accordingly, the accomplishments of the community pertain to soil and water conservation, and the popular venture is expected to continue in a more organized manner.
Mr. Mebrahtu Tekle, Administrator of the village, disclosed that the undertakings are aimed at promoting environmental stability, and expressed appreciation for the active participation of the inhabitants.
Mr. Tesfom Kinfe and Ms. Tirhas Haile, from the Agriculture Ministry and in charge of the program’s follow-up, stated that a total of 680 cubic meters of water catchment walls and terraces have so far been constructed, and equally lauded the input made by the community.
