Various development accomplishments registered in Adi-Keih sub-zone on the basis of popular undertakings
The Administration of Adi-Keih sub-zone pointed out that various development accomplishments have been registered on the basis of popular undertakings.
Adi-Keih, 11 January 2014 – The Administration of Adi-Keih sub-zone pointed out that various development accomplishments have been registered on the basis of popular undertakings. It made the remark at an assessment meeting, during which it was stated that the plantation of more than 24,000 seedlings of tropical fruits has witnessed a promising outcome, besides the initiatives taken to establish wood enclosures on a total area of 160 hectares.
Mr. Habte Kidane, Head of administration and finance in the Administration, outlined the interventions made towards doing away with childhood marriage and the community sensitization activities conducted against FGM.
According to the reports presented at the meeting, more than 320,000 tree seedlings have been planted and the dirt road connecting Egila-Demhina has been renovated through communal initiative. Besides a total of 300 energy-saving wood stoves were built in Tekondae area and more than 45,000 Nakfa was extended by the inhabitants of Egila area for the renovation of schools.
The participants of the meeting put forth views focusing on a number of issues.
In closing remarks, Mr. Berhane Eyasu, Administrator of the sub-zone, said that future undertakings are focused on giving impetus to community ventures, furthering outreach of potable water supply facilities, inspiring community resort to use of the energy-saving wood stove and soak-pit latrines, as well as renovation of various infrastructures in Adi-Keih city, among others.
