Inhabitants of Gilass area renovate dirt road though integrated popular initiative

The inhabitants of Gilass Administrative area, Hagaz sub-zone, are engaged in the renovation of a dirt road on the basis of integrated popular initiative.

Hagaz, 15 January 2014 – The inhabitants of Gilass Administrative area, Hagaz sub-zone, are engaged in the renovation of a dirt road on the basis of integrated popular initiative.

They further indicated that the road has been causing transportation problems, and thus negatively affecting the community’s activities, and that the process targets conclusion before the onset of the rainy season.

Among the inhabitants, Mr. Dawit Musa, Ms. Jemi’e Musa, Mr. Dermas Musa and Mr. Gebil Haileab explained that the undertaking is a continuation of previous communal soil and water conservation endeavors, and that they would put up sustained efforts towards the conclusion of the task. They further expressed conviction that renovation of the road would promote traffic safety and ease vehicle transportation.

Mr. Asgedom Temnewo, Administrator of Gilass Administrative area, disclosed that 3 Km. has already been renovated, and that the process would gain momentum until it covers the distance up to Ashera area.
