The Administrator of Hagaz sub-zone, Ms. Amna Haj, has called for sustained communal role as regards nurturing cultural values among youths.
Hagaz, 21 January 2014 – The Administrator of Hagaz sub-zone, Ms. Amna Haj, has called for sustained communal role as regards nurturing cultural values among youths. She made the call at a meeting with civil servants, representatives of national Associations and line ministries, as well as members of the People’s Army, during which she disclosed that new programs have been set for implementation in a bid to raising youth input in development activities.
Ms. Amna further pointed out that the priorities of activities in 2014 relate to popular soil and water conservation ventures and environmental hygiene, besides inspiring political activities among youths.
The meeting also witnessed assessment of the activities of line ministries vis-à-vis the respective cherished goals, and it was stated on the occasion that the residents of Hagaz semi-urban center extended more than 160,000 Nakfa for the construction of a Youth Center.
It was pointed out that 65% of the inhabitants of the sub-zone have become beneficiaries of potable water supply, while 83% of the community members have got access to viable transport. Moreover, participation of children in education has shown significant growth, and commendable health services are being rendered.
Likewise, the members of the People’s Army said that joint ventures on their part and communities have made remarkable impact as regards soil and water conservation undertakings including construction of dams and that such initiative would maintain the momentum.
