Nacfa, 29 January 2014 – The Administration of Nacfa sub-zone indicated that various social service programs were implemented at more than 25 million Nakfa last year.
Mr. Idris Ali Shiker, Administrator of the sub-zone, disclosed that the undertakings also pertain to soil and water conservation, construction of micro-dams and ponds, as well as renovation of roads, among others. He added that active participation was witnessed on the part of communities and members of the People’s Army in the process. More over the sub zonal administrator pointed out that there exists a total area of 5,300 hectares for farming, from which remarkable amount of wheat and bean harvest could be obtained.
Accordingly, the construction of ponds could contribute to the endeavors being made to meet the growing demand for potable water supply. It was further indicated that 4 water reservoirs would be constructed in Nacfa, Agrae, Rora and other areas. Moreover, community awareness as regards health issues is on the rise with gratifying trend in the number of women attending medical services, and the rendering of commendable educational service.
Mr. Idris indicated that future undertakings of the Administration would include widespread popular soil and water conservation ventures, finalization of school projects, erecting mobile telephone towers, extending the scope of Nacfa Hospital’s service, distribution of land plots for residential purpose and finalization of a master plan for Nakfa urban center.
