Asmara, 01 February 2014 – Eritrean community members in Australia and New Zealand have extended a total of USD 82,800 in support of 115 families of martyrs in line with their initiative to patronize them for 2 years. They also expressed readiness to continue extending financial support to families of fallen heroes.

Meanwhile, in a meeting they conducted on the 26th of January, Eritrean families residing in the Australian city of Melbourne said that they would strive to bequeath national values to their children. The event witnessed the prevailing attachment of the nationals with the Homeland, according to reports.

Mr. Yasin Omar, in charge of Consular Affairs in Australia and New Zealand, disclosed that the meeting was organized in connection with New Year celebrations, and that it served as a forum for discussions pertaining to the objective situation in the Homeland. “It is also of vital importance as regards guiding children along the right path, and parents are urged to demonstrate wit in nurturing cultural values among the young generation,” he underscored.
