Agordat sub-zone: Call made for stepped-up community participation in implementation of development programs
The Administration of Agordat sub-zone has called for stepped-up community participation regarding implementation of development programs vis-à-vis enhanced follow-up on the part of pertinent bodies.
Agordat, 04 February 2014 – The Administration of Agordat sub-zone has called for stepped-up community participation regarding implementation of development programs vis-à-vis enhanced follow-up on the part of pertinent bodies.
It made the call at a meeting Mr. Teklebirhan Gebrewold, Administrator of the sub-zone, conducted with heads of government bodies and community representatives focusing on work accomplishments in 2013, as well as ways and means of implementing future plan.
In the course of the meeting, it was assessed that gratifying achievements could be made pursuing enhancement of the impact of social service, soil and water conservation, rural electrification, as well as introduction of soak-pit latrines. In this connection, community participation was described significant.
Moreover, exemplary communal task was undertaken as regards erecting electricity poles along the Administrative areas of Aderde, Engerne, Karshimla and Enderayeb, which process witnessed active participation of members of the People’s Army. Vaccination service was also given to a total of 42,000 livestock.
The participants of the meeting exchanged views on the agenda items and put forth views regarding a number of issues.
