The commemoration of the 24th anniversary of Operation Fenkil got underway in Massawa city in patriotic zeal that witnessed the opening of a bazaar show in the morning hours.
Massawa, 07 February 2014 – The commemoration of the 24th anniversary of Operation Fenkil got underway in Massawa city in patriotic zeal that witnessed the opening of a bazaar show in the morning hours.
The bazaar was inaugurated by Mr. Al-Amin Mohammed Seid, Secretary of the PFDJ, accompanied by the Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsigereda Woldegiorgis, and the Minister of Marine Resources, Mr. Tewolde Kelati.
Following a tour of the show, the officials headed to their spot of accommodation, and camel racing as well as cultural performances by mothers added color to the event.
Meanwhile, sports activities that have been conducted in connection with the momentous event continued today involving a number of funs, while cultural events and a fashion show were staged in different spots of Massawa.
Cold weather also facilitated visits to historical sites within the port city.
