The residents of Gejeret sub-zone, Asmara, are engaged in environmental hygiene in collaboration with members of the People’s Army with a view to promoting community wellbeing.

Asmara, 08 February 2014 – The residents of Gejeret sub-zone, Asmara, are engaged in environmental hygiene in collaboration with members of the People’s Army with a view to promoting community wellbeing.

Among the community members, Ms. Letebirhan Kahsai and Mr. Meharena Teferi pointed out that popular undertakings have gained momentum since last year, and that the current venture has witnessed higher communal organization. They further asserted readiness to enhance participation in environmental activities.

Mr. Hayelom Abraha, Mr. Kelati Ali-Bekit and Mr. Gebregziabher Kidane, members of the People’s Army, explained that the popular initiative is in tune with the Eritrean people’s culture of hard work, and that follow-up of previously planted tree seedlings is of major significance in embellishment of streets.

Ms. Tiblets Tewolde, Administrator of the sub-zone, stated that active community participation and organization is being witnessed in the undertaking, and called for timely supply of tree seedlings.
