Eritrean community members in Denmark have expressed readiness to mount staunch resistance against external conspiracies on the basis of strengthening organization.
Asmara, 10 February 2014 –Eritrean community members in Denmark have expressed readiness to mount staunch resistance against external conspiracies on the basis of strengthening organization. They made the pledge at a meeting during which Mr. Tekle Mengistu, Head of public and community affairs in the Eritrean Embassy in Scandinavia, gave briefings regarding the smear campaign targeting the nation vis-à-vis the Eritrean people’s struggle stretching for over a century to achieve independence. He further called on the community members to demonstrate diligence as regards nurturing national values.
Mr. Robel Tesfai, representing the holidays coordinating committee of Eritrean community members in the Scandinavian countries, said on his part that the festival conducted in Stockholm city has made significant impact in connection with communal and State affairs over the past 15 years. Subsequently, a total fund of 500,000 Kronor was raised over the past 2 years for the Community’s activities, and the members are ready to mark the event with fervor, he added. The participants of the meeting also exchanged views on several agenda items.
Meanwhile, a branch office of the NUEW has been launched in Denmark, while the first meeting was conducted witnessing discussions on the patriotic feat of Eritrean women vis-à-vis their paramount role in the nation-building process.
