Gash-Barka region: Administrator calls on youths to effectively utilize opportunities laid with a view to raising all-round competence

The Administrator of Gash-Barka region, Mr. Mohammed Hamd, has called on youths to effectively utilize opportunities laid with a view to raising their all-round competence.

Barentu, 10 February 2014 – The Administrator of Gash-Barka region, Mr. Mohammed Hamd, has called on youths to effectively utilize opportunities laid with a view to raising their all-round competence. He made the call at a seminar in Barentu city with youth representatives, during which he urged them to enhance role in the implementation of national development programs.

In the course of the meeting, Mr. Mohammed explained the exceptional sacrifice paid by the Eritrean youth to ensure national independence and safeguard the nation’s sovereignty, and encouraged students to demonstrate commitment in the educational pursuit, and thereby raise their input in the nation-building process. He further stated that the regional Administration has been putting up enhanced efforts to this end, and disclosed that a total of 500,000 Nakfa has been extended this year backing the NUEYS branch in the region.

Likewise, Mr. Gide Sequar from the Union’s branch office gave briefings pertaining to the work plan for this year. He also said that more endeavors would be made towards promoting the culture of reading, distribution of promotional materials, nurturing of youth cadres and input of youths in community undertakings.

The participants expressed satisfaction with the seminar, and put forth views on a number of issues.
