Asmara, 13 February 2014 – Keih Bahri Tannery extended sports items worth 125,000 Nakfa to local Football Teams in Mai-Temenai and Geza-Banda areas, Asmara.

Speaking during the handing over at Asmara Stadium, Mr. BerhaneAsfaha, owner of the factory, explained that the initiative has been taken in line with the factory’s deep conviction that sports development is highly reliant on communal and individual input. He further called for further collaboration on the part of communities and entrepreneurs to this end.

Representing both teams, Mr. ZeromTesfayesus, Chairman of Mai-Temenai Football Club, said that the support is supplemental to the commitment being demonstrated by local Administrations towards promoting community-based sports activities. He also called on other institutions and individuals to prove such sense of social responsibility.

Among the members of the teams, Robel Teklebirhan and Michael Rezene expressed conviction that a provision of this type of support would motivate others for more similar initiatives.
