A total of 60 youths who have been receiving training in installation of solar panel organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mines graduated today.
Asmara, 20 February 2014 – A total of 60 youths who have been receiving training in installation of solar panel organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mines graduated today.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tesfai Zecarias, Director General of the Energy Department, indicated that the training course was organized with a view to promoting introduction of the technology as an alternative of energy source, and that more efforts would be exerted as regards human resource development focusing on renewable energy.
He further noted the vitality of resorting to solar, wind and other sources of energy vis-à-vis the issue of sustainability.
Mr. Tesfai Gebrehiwet, Head of renewable energy in the Ministry, explained that the awareness regarding proper installation and renovation of solar panels has been limited, and called on users to consult properly trained personnel only.
A representative of the graduates lauded the initiative taken by the Ministry towards furthering societal adherence to renewable energy on the basis of raising human resource capacity.
