Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Mendefera sub-zone organizes training for members of families of martyrs
The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Mendefera sub-zone organized a training course on weaving for a total of 40 members of families of martyrs and needy nationals.
Mendefera, 22 February 2013 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Mendefera sub-zone organized a training course on weaving for a total of 40 members of families of martyrs and needy nationals.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony thereof, Ms. Tsige Bariagabir, Head of the branch office, explained that the 7-month training is aimed at improving the livelihood of the beneficiaries, and that 336,000 Nakfa was also extended collectively to the trainees so as to encourage them. She further indicated that the trainees have been supplied with equipment and threads on credit basis so as to enable them work on the basis of their own resources. Ms. Teige also called on them to focus on creed development.
Also speaking on the occasion, Mr. Franco Kubaba, Head of social service in the Southern region, stated that the government has been organizing various training courses of this type in a bid to ensure improvement of societal livelihood, and urged the beneficiaries to utilize the opportunity as a stepping stone to raising their income.
Mr. Abraham Hagos, Administrator of the sub-zone, equally said that the opportunity constitutes a doorway to betterment of livelihood for the trainees.
A representative of the graduating batch, expressed conviction that the skill knowhow the group have acquired has major impact as regards improving their livelihood, and commenced all those who collaborated in conducting the training. The representative also asserted that they would do their level best to improve their livelihood.
