The inhabitants of Hashakito administrative area, Dige sub-zone, are engaged in soil and water conservation activities on the basis of higher sprit of communal participation.

Barentu, 25 February 2014– The inhabitants of Hashakito administrative area, Dige sub-zone, are engaged in soil and water conservation activities on the basis of higher sprit of communal participation.

Among the participants, Mr. Humed Idris and Mr. Mohammed Hamid indicated that soil and water conservation has a significant impact in enriching soil fertility, and that higher popular awareness prevails to this end.

Mr. Hamid Mohammed, Managing Director of Hashakito Administrative area, explained that the activities are aimed at upgrading soil fertility and raising agricultural production through implementing soil and water conservation programs. He further asserted that the popular initiative would continue in a highly organized manner.
