Hagaz, 26February2014– At a meeting he conducted with local administrators, religious leaders and community health representatives, Mr. Gebremeskel Gebrehiwot, head of Health Ministry’s branch in Hagaz sub-zone, called for enhanced community health activities for a better outcome in remote areas of the sub-zone.
He further outlined the accomplishments so far registered registered, and noted the need to identify the prevailing challenges and strong sides for a still more gratifying outcome. He further pointed out that stepped-up efforts would be made towards inspiring community-led environmental hygiene activities and control of communicable as well as non-communicable diseases, especially malaria.
Moreover, he stressed the need of stepped-up participant of the public for the realization of the cherished health goals, and that there are more than 50 health personnel in the sub-zone to do the job.
Also speaking at the meeting, Mr. TsegaiTekeste, head of epidemic prevention in the region, gave extensive briefings focusing on risks of trans-borders infections, and said that Area administrators have the mandate to quickly report new phenomena of infections.
The participants of the meeting put forth views focusing on a number of issues.
