Inhabitants of Ali-Gidir Administrative area engage in farmland clearing activities

The inhabitants of Ali-Gidir Administrative area, Tessenei sub-zone, are engaged in a controlled farmland clearing campaign on the basis of teamwork which is being conducted three times a week, thus giving rise to the coverage of around 910 hectares.

Barentu, 26February2014– The inhabitants of Ali-Gidir Administrative area, Tessenei sub-zone, are engaged in a controlled farmland clearing campaign on the basis of teamwork which is being conducted three times a week, thus giving rise to the coverage of around 910 hectares.

Among the community members, Mr. Giorgio Tela, Mr. Seadeen Ibrahim and Mr. Hamd Omar disclosed that the clearing is being mad on targeted trees that comprise those that plentifully consume underground water, and expressed conviction that the venture would make significant impact as regards control of undesired spread s of such trees.

Mr. Ferej Mahmoud Anjetai, Administrator of Ali-Gidir area, disclosed that the undertaking is being carried out at farming spots where remarkable agricultural infrastructures have been put in place, and lauded the active communal participation being demonstrated in the process.
