Successful ophthalmic surgery conducted in Adi-Keih on 200 nationals

Mr. Gebreselasie Gebremariam, head of non-communicable diseases in the Health Ministry’s branch in the Southern region, indicated that a successful ophthalmic surgery has been conducted on a total of 200 nationals in Adi-keih Hospital in collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the National Department of Blindness Control and Prevention.

Adi-keih, 26 February2014–Mr. Gebreselasie Gebremariam, head of non-communicable diseases in the Health Ministry’s branch in the Southern region, indicated that a successful ophthalmic surgery has been conducted on a total of 200 nationals in Adi-keih Hospital in collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the National Department of Blindness Control and Prevention.

He further indicated that such a program demonstrates to the Government’s efforts in giving priority to ensure health of its citizens, and that attests to the reliable capacity of the Eritrean experts. The citizens that received the free service are from the sub-zones of Adi-keih, Sen’afe, Mai-A’ini andTserona,he added.

Dr. Bahabelom Michael, Director of Adi-keih Hospital, expressed appreciation for the staff members for their active participation in the campaign, and called on the city residents to resort to periodic medical checkup as far as ophthalmic issues are concerned.

The beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the imitative taken by the government.
