Keren.1 March 2014 – The Assembly of Anseba region has conducted 16th regular meeting on the 26th and 27th of February in Keren city.
It was stated at the meeting, during which line Ministries and branches of Administrations as well as national Associations presented reports, that remarkable accomplishments have been registered as regards pursuing agricultural development, and that sustainable development schemes have made positive impact as regards improving community livelihood.
In this connection, popular activities regarding soil and water conservation as well as construction of micro-dams have resulted in improvement of communal livelihood. The Assembly members called for enhanced participation of communities and government bodies towards furthering implementation of development programs, besides enhancing activities of the NUEYS and the NUEW.
The members of the Assembly exchanged views on the agenda items, and put fourth views focusing on the teaching-learning process, construction of terraces and water catchment walls, as well as renovation of roads.
In closing remarks, Mr. Gergis Girmai, the regional Administrator, called on the Assembly members to demonstrate greater commitment with a view to safeguarding security and societal harmony, in addition to raising public awareness.
