Inhabitants of Hiret area renovate dirt road to the locality

The inhabitants of Hiret administrative area, Adi-Keih Sub-zone, have renovated a 12-km dirt road linking the locality with Adi-Keih city.

Adi-Keih, 1 March 2014 – The inhabitants of Hiret administrative area, Adi-Keih Sub-zone, have renovated a 12-km dirt road linking the locality with Adi-Keih city.

Mr. Efrem Mana, Administrator of the area, explained that the road was eroded and thus causing a number of problems, especially in connection with transporting patients, and that the inhabitants are also engaged in the construction of terraces and water catchment walls, as well as renovation of micro-dams in a bid to raise agricultural output.

Among the inhabitants, Mr. Okbai Fissehaye and Ms.Weini Yimesgen expressed conviction that the renovation of the road would facilitate transport viability.

Meanwhile, speaking at a meeting he conducted with Area administrators, Mr. Berhane Eyasu, Administrator of the sub-zone, called on them to play due role in inspiring popular undertakings, especially as regards facilitating the launching of potable water supply undertakings.

In the same vein, Mr. Habte Kidane, Head of administration and finance in the Administration of the sub-zone, urged Area administrators to maintain close ties with the respective community members, and deliver timely information, as well as properly entertain public issues.
