Mai-Mine, 02 March 2014 – Youths in Mai-Mine sub-zone have expressed readiness to back up national development endeavors on the basis of enhanced organization and raised awareness.
They made the pledge at a meeting with the head of the NUEYS’ branch in the Southern region, Mr. Girmai Gebru, where civil servants and members of the People’s Army also took part.
Mr. Girmai outlined the role of the Eritrean youths in the armed struggle for independence and safeguarding the nation’s dignity, besides calling on the participant youths to keep intact national values and step up participation in the nation-building process. He further pointed out that the Union has been exerting efforts with a view to raising the production capacity of members in remote areas, and that academic and training activities as well as seminars would be conducted in this connection.
Also speaking at the meeting, Mr. Firewongel Teklehaimanot, Administrator of the sub-zone, stated that youths are always the secret behind transforming challenges into opportunities. He also said that the citizenry should extend a helping hand towards nurturing dynamic youths, and expressed the Administration’s readiness to collaborate with the Union.
The participants commended the briefings given in the course of the meeting, and put forth views pertaining to a number of issues.
